It's not finished yet...

This site has been created in conjunction with Brian's 80th birthday celebrations and showcases some creative highlights from over the years.

A commercial artist and illustrator for much of his career, Brian found more public attention as an amateur garden designer - which was always more of a hobby than work activity. Three of his designs have been built at the Chelsea Flower Show in the 1970s and 80s and the prize from the last design helped him develop his own water garden.

As his working life slowed down in his 50s, Brian returned to his classical art school training and began painting in oils again.

Now in his 80th year, Brian has several painting projects underway and is also well occupied creating landscapes and buildings for his model railway - a re-creation of scenes he remembers from his childhood in the 1930s and 40s.

The site title is derived from Brian saying of his work that "It's not finished yet" - Quite often it is difficult to tell that this is the case as even if something looks finished, it may not be so in Brian's head ...

It is now ...

Sadly, following Brian's death on April 21st what was left of his 'unfinished' projects will remain that way.

However, we are using this site to let others see how far he managed to get, despite facing the daily challenges of living with the advanced stages of lung cancer and its complications.
